Workshops and Classes

  • From time to time, Centre Pieces sponsors workshops and classes. The Guild has a fund to make it possible to attend these workshops if a Guild member is unable to afford the full cost. To apply, right-click on the link to the application form below, save the form to your computer, fill it out, and send it in to the following address:

    Centre Pieces Quilt Guild
    Attn: Workshop Scholarship Committee
    P.O. Box 657
    Boalsburg, PA 16827

A committee of three people will make the determination of whether the scholarship will be awarded. All scholarship awards are kept strictly confidential. Not even the workshop registrar or treasurer will know who received the money.

  • May Day Meeting/Workshop - Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 10am-3pm, Interpretive Center at the Transfer Station
Karen Powers will conduct a workshop on Playing with Fabric Scraps.
  • Using your fabric scraps and perhaps trading scraps with others, let's create our own unique fabric to create fabulous blocks and borders. I like to use strips in the following widths: 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 2", and 2 1/2". The length of the strips can vary.

Got some leftover triangles or unused binding? Bring those, too! Totally scrappy? Monochromatic? Lights? Darks? Complimentary colors? Lots of options.

If you would like to join the fun in May, start saving and prepping your fabric strips now. Hope you will join us!

Note: Bring a lunch and we will have our business meeting during our break from noon to 1 pm.
