Workshops and Classes

  • From time to time, Centre Pieces sponsors workshops and classes. The Guild has a fund to make it possible to attend these workshops if a Guild member is unable to afford the full cost. To apply, right-click on the link to the application form below, save the form to your computer, fill it out, and send it in to the following address:

    A committee of three people will make the determination of whether the scholarship will be awarded. All scholarship awards are kept strictly confidential. Not even the workshop registrar or treasurer will know who received the money.

Upcoming Workshops and Classes

  • Basic Quiltmaking Class Being Offered
    Jill Wisniewski announces that she is again offering classes in Basic Quiltmaking to any Guild member.

    There is a limit of 4 students. She hopes to have the classes begin in October, 2017. Classes will be at her home on a day and time that is agreeable to all and to be determined.
  • Students will make a sampler quilt which will showcase all the techniques of cutting fabric, how to piece, appliqué, paper-piecing, layering, choosing batting, making binding, and much more. Note: Students will provide all the fabrics and tools. Please call or email Jill if you are interested.

  • October Day Meeting/Workshop - Wednesday, October 11, 2017, 9am-4pm, Good Shepherd Catholic Church in the "Warehouse" room in Grays Woods
    Michele Scott will hold a workshop, "Willow Tree".

    Based on Michele’s new AQS book, Bobbin Quiltin' and Fusin' Fun, you can make this exquisite wall hanging! In this class, you will learn fusing and machine quilting techniques - including bobbin quilting and couching. Discover the ease and beauty of creating great quilting designs with decorative threads.

    The fee for her workshop is $40 and the pattern is included.

    Note: Bring a lunch and we will have our business meeting during our break from noon to 1 pm. Please note that the location and time of the workshop is new.
  • She is limiting her class to 20 people so signing up early is important. Sign up for the class by contacting Susan De Metrick or Barbara Zeger. We will not consider you registered for the class until we receive payment for the workshop.
